Small is Beautiful. Bitesize webinars

Lunch and Learn is a short, up to 60-minute session designed to feed the mind. We learn best in short bursts and are more likely to retain information when it’s presented in small chunks. Each Lunch & Learn focuses on the key points. It’s an engaging and effective form of online learning, that can be made available to everyone in your organisation whether they’re working from home, the office or anywhere in the world.

Webinars can form part of a year-round learning calendar or to mark special events or dates such as World Mental Health Day, World Happiness Day, Mental Health Awareness Month, Blue Monday etc. Here are three examples of individual webinars.

Happiness: Explore what does and doesn’t make us happy according to the science of wellbeing. Drawing on the bestselling Little Book of Happiness, the webinar shares the happiness habits that can help raise the bar on your wellbeing.

  • Pleasure or Purpose? Discover the two major sources of happiness
  • Find out why positive emotions don’t just feel good but do us good
  • Explore happiness habits such as gratitude, savouring and optimism

Resilience is what helps us keep going and maintain wellbeing in difficult situations. The good news is that resilience is not just something you’re born with but also something you can learn.

  • Are you in the green zone (easy), amber zone (growth) or red zone (overwhelm)? How is your balance between your current capacity for resilience and the challenge you’re facing.
  • Discover three forms of Positive Coping: Emotion-focused coping, Problem-focused coping and Avoidance coping (yes!)
  • Explore ways to build resilience.

Growth Mindset: Mindsets are the beliefs that we hold about our abilities. They shape behaviour and the results we achieve at work. Someone in a ‘growth mindset’ understands that our brains are malleable with room for development whereas someone in a fixed mindset believes that our abilities are fixed – you’re born that way.

Happy Hour

You can also create your own Pick & Mix programme of 6-12 sessions to run across the year. Select your chosen topics from this website. You can find inspiration in the Positive Psychology Foundations and Positive Psychology Masterclasses. Schedule a weekly or monthly session or make it part of your mental health awareness month.
